Henry Cotton and Gene Sarazen played a challenge match over the Temple Newsam Golf Course in 1933.

The match was played over 36 holes, with the second round starting just 3½ hours after the first!

Slow play was obviously unheard of in those days.

Henry Cotton emerged victorious by the margin of 4 up and 3 to play.
